- Search for new fabric trends and take initiative to work with mills to develop new fabric suitable for the Ralph Lauren brand identities
- Proactively offer the fabric options and development strategy to NY design team for new season development and provide technical suggestions to mills on new fabric development options
- Proactively work with R&D/ Product Development and US design team on fabric development
- Negotiation of the development roll, Salesman sample fabric delivery / Costing / MOQ and update all relevant parties for the flash costing
- Provide solutions for bulk fabric quality issue to support production process
- Manage timely sample fabric ordering, color and quality approval, bulk lot and test approval to meet all required deadlines.
- Review and communicate proactively with NY counterparts any potential call out with corrective recommendation.
- Collaborate with internal partners to manage griege and capacity planning to meet the business needs.
- Evaluates and tracks mills' performance; resolve potential risk and troubleshooting to avoid quality / delivery issues at bulk stage.
- Monitor and train vendors for new required format, procedures, disciplines
- Drive for effective communication between internal partners and mills, ensure that adequate lead-time and price are negotiated and obtained to achieve business objectives.
- Manage seasonal calendars and activities, anticipating obstacles, proactively deliver solutions and drive continuous process improvement.
- Manage & maintain color library in seasonal base and support production team for bulk color and qualities issues.
- Drive for end-to-end operational efficiency and effectiveness, including but not limited to system enhancement (PLM), data and reporting management.
- Lead and drive end to end macro analysis to ensure accurate market price follow up and seasonal price closure prior the peak seasons
- Work with Cross functional team to run Long Range Program (LRP)
- Provide guidance to design team and vendors to get better output and work closely with the conscious material coordinators and vendors to ensure standard and quality.
- 10-12 years related experience in sourcing office or global sourcing company is an advantage.
- Should have experience in garment manufacturing or raw material manufacturing for branded apparel.
- Textile knowledgeable, and with comprehensive knowledge of the end-to-end merchandising process.
- Proven experience in staff or mills trainings, specific on quality / color approval is a plus.
- Share a passionate interest in fabric; visionary, highly proactive, fresh thinking, communicative, dots connecting and multi-tasking.
- High adaptability to changing business requirement and across functional team environment.
- Proficiency in using MS office & knowledge in PLM is an advantage.
- Fluency in both spoken and written English.
- Experience of working on transparency & traceability and value mapping for entire supply chain along with cross functional teams.
- Preferred to have good knowledge on washing effect of different chemicals on different materials.
