Responsibilities & Context:Contract type: Temporary Engagement for One (1) Year Engagement | Full time - 37.5 hours per weekLocation: WaterAid Bangladesh Country Office Dhaka, BangladeshAbout the role: The Young Professional (Climate Resilience) will support the integration of climate resilience in WASH programmes by assisting in technical design reviews, field monitoring, and policy rollouts. The role includes preparing reports, developing monitoring tools, supporting partner capacity building, and providing cross-team technical inputs. This position offers a valuable opportunity for early-career professionals to gain hands-on experience in climate resilience and development programming.In this role, you will:Technical Design & Review - Support in developing and reviewing WASH-related designs, structural drawings, BoQs, and estimations, including stocktaking of all project-level technical documents.Quality Assurance - Conduct field monitoring at all project stages (pre, during, post-construction) to ensure adherence to standards, identify deviations, and provide corrective feedback.Policy & Compliance Support - Assist in rolling out Water Quality, Construction Health & Safety, QPS, and related policies at project level, while identifying partner engineers' capacity-building needs.Monitoring & Reporting - Develop site monitoring tools/checklists, coordinate with Programme Officers/Experts, and prepare technical reports, progress updates, and donor submissions.Programme & Organizational Support - Provide technical inputs to the Climate Resilience team and other programmes, while sharing additional responsibilities as required from the organization side.The responsibilities outlined above may be subject to periodic review and revision in consultation with the line manager.Education Requirements:
Bachelor in Engineering (BEngg) in Civil Engineering
Fresh Graduates with a bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or relevant subject or faculty with good academic results throughout the academic career. Post graduation will be preferred.Additional Job Requirements:Desired attributes:Strong technical knowledge on Civil engineering drawing, construction, estimation, writing and copy-editing skills.Good technical understanding of different WASH technologies and their implications.Good presentation and communications skills both in English and Bangla.Ready to undertake extensive field visits outside DhakaMaximum age of 26 years as of January 1, 2025.Compensation & Other Benefits:Salary: Monthly Allowance BDT 30,000, Cell phone allowance, Festival allowance BDT 30,000 for completed tenure and Health Insurance for self.
