Responsibilities & Context:Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) is an organization for sustainable development working in greater Chattogram division since 1985. YPSA is implementing a project on “Anticipatory Action for landslides causing displacement for communities in Chattogram Districts in Bangladesh” in Chattogram district (Chattogram City Corporation & Banshkhali Upazila) in partnership with Save the Children. YPSA is inviting application from the experienced professionals with proven track record for the following position for the Project.Duration: 15th September 2025 to 28th February 2026Job responsibilities:Lead and coordinate the project through maintaining project cycle management for achieving project goal and objectivesDevelop project plan & budget, program & training guideline and project reportsConduct the anticipatory action based community-based risk and vulnerability assessments and integrate into the local governmental disaster management committees (DMCs) for maximum efficacy.Work for improving Early Response initiatives through disseminating Early warning messages to the vulnerable and affected populationsDevelopment of the mapping of Impact-based forecasting focusing on landslides, flashflood and displacementCapacity building of vulnerable communities, volunteers, stakeholders , DMCs, community people and interpretation groups, meteorologists/hydrologists on Anticipatory Action.Ensure all deliverables of the project through periodic reviews and disseminate findings among relevant stakeholdersEngagement for community and institutional capacity by developing landslide early action protocol linked to displacementMaintain linkage with related GO, City Corporation, upazila administration, municipalities, Disaster Management Committees, NGOs, civil society and other stakeholdersFacilitate different training, meeting, workshop and orientations with different stakeholdersProvide direction and support to project team to ensure the standards of project activitiesEnsure that the project activities comply with the policies and regulations of the donor and the organizationSupervise, monitor and evaluate the project, work and performance of staff and take concrete steps to improve job performance.Maintain gender-sensitive approach in all stages and maintain safeguarding measuresAny other task assigned by the ManagementEducation Requirements:
  • Masters
Master's Degree in any subject; preferably in Development Studies / Disaster Management / Environmental Science/Geography and Environment from a recognized UniversityExperience:
  • At least 8 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGO, Development Agency
Additional Job Requirements:At least 8 year experiences in the development field along with 4 year experiences in project management.Knowledge and experience to work in Anticipatory Action, DRR, and emergency responseDemonstrate very strong leadership and management skills and ability to work in the team.Sound knowledge of project cycle managementExcellent planning, analytical, organizational and decision making skillsGood working relationships with colleagues, partners, external actors and alliesExcellent communication skills including a high level of written and spoken EnglishConversant in common IT applications (MS word, MS power point, internet browsing & e-mail communications)Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure and meet deadlinesCompensation & Other Benefits:Monthly consolidated Salary: 79,939/-Company Information:Young Power in Social Action (YPSA), an organization in Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN-ECOSOC) since 2013, is a voluntary non-profit organization for sustainable development registered with the different departments of the People`s Republic of Bangladesh including NGO Affairs Bureau contributing to national goals for making a difference in the lives of the population since its establishment in 1985.
