Responsibilities & Context:Psychologist for Hope Field Hospital, Ukhia, Cox's BazarThe Psychologist will play a critical role in delivering specialized mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) services to individuals experiencing complex psychological distress and mental disorders. This position supports both inpatient (IPD) and outpatient (OPD) settings and contributes to capacity building through training, supervision, and implementation of WHO-endorsed interventions such as Problem Management Plus (PM+). The Psychologist will work closely with psychiatrists, psychosocial counselors, and community health Facilitators to ensure culturally sensitive, evidence-based care.Responsibilities:Clinical Services
  • Provide direct, non-pharmacological psychological care to individuals with complicated mental health conditions, including trauma, depression, anxiety, and psychosocial distress.
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for IPD and OPD patients, using standardized tools and clinical judgment.
  • Implement PM+ and other low-intensity psychological interventions for individuals with functional impairments due to distress.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and medical doctors to co-manage cases requiring integrated care.
  • Deliver telemedicine-based psychological consultations when needed.
Supervision & Capacity Building
  • Provide clinical supervision and mentoring to psychosocial counselors and mental health community workers.
  • Design and facilitate training sessions on MHPSS principles, psychological first aid (PFA), PM+, and stress management for staff, volunteers, and community-based actors.
  • Support the development of culturally adapted training materials and visual aids for community outreach.
Coordination & Collaboration
  • Work in close coordination with the Mental Health Team to ensure continuity of care and integrated service delivery.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and contribute to care planning.
  • Liaise with external partners and stakeholders to strengthen referral pathways and community-based support systems.
Data Protection & Ethics
  • Ensure strict confidentiality of patient information and project strategies.
  • Maintain secure filing systems for all case documentation in compliance with organizational protocols.
  • Uphold ethical standards in all clinical and supervisory practices.
Education Requirements:
  • Master of Science (MSc) in Psychology
  • Master's degree in clinical psychology or counseling psychology
Experience:
  • At least 3 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGO, Hospital
Additional Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in humanitarian or clinical settings, preferably with displaced populations.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering PM+ or similar WHO-endorsed interventions.
  • Proven ability to conduct training and supervision in MHPSS.
  • Familiarity with IASC Guidelines on MHPSS in Emergency Settings.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.Fluency in Bangla and English; Rohingya language skills are an asset.
