Online Volunteers will connect to a digital classroom and conduct live, interactive classes for 1/1.5 hours every week. A minimum commitment of 12 weeks is expected from each Online Volunteer.
Lesson materials will be provided. Online Volunteers are also welcomed to create their own lesson materials if they have experiences in doing so.The selected Online Volunteers need to be fluent in Japanese. Successful Online Volunteers applicants will need to participate in an Online Induction for further details on the assignment and the expected contribution/deliverables from this role.SPECIAL NOTICE:
This is an unpaid assignment. However, a certificate would be provided at the end of your assignment. The task will be fully virtual.Requirements:Required Education Level
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent educational background.
- Knowledge of Japanese linguistics, including phonetics, grammar, syntax, and pragmatics is an asset.
- Certification or demonstrated proficiency in Japanese language proficiency tests will be advantageous.
- Proficiency in using online teaching platforms, educational technology tools, and digital resources for delivering live, interactive classes in a virtual environment.
- Prior experience in teaching Japanese language to non-native speakers, particularly at the beginner level, is beneficial.
- Teaching certificate is desired, although not required.
