Responsibilities & Context:Society for Health Extension and Development (SHED) a National NGO working in Cox`s Bazar district is inviting applications from suitable candidates for its program title 'Integrated Nutrition Interventions for Malnutrition Treatment and Prevention in FDMN`S Camps & Host communities in Cox`s Bazar'. The Programme is jointly funded by UNICEF & WFP. SHED is looking for qualified candidates for the post.Job Context:Nurse Position is responsible for providing overall technical, organizational support and play a support and facilitation role for community-based management of acute malnutrition through treatment clinical symptoms of acute malnutrition in Rohingya camp. Establishes and maintains close working Relationship with communities in her working area to ensure that the nutrition messages are disseminated and understood at all levels.Report to: Nutrition Supervisor (Nutritionist)/Doctor - SCSupervise to: Community Nutrition Volunteers/Measurer Volunteers/Nurse Volunteers; whoever will be assigned.Responsibilities:Under the guidance of the Nutrition supervisor- Nutritionist or Doctor-SC, the Nurse will be responsible for:Medical & Anthropometric Assessment & CareConduct comprehensive medical evaluations for all beneficiaries, including:Infants under 6 months with acute malnutritionChildren under 5 with SAM/MAMPregnant Women (PW) for danger signsPerform detailed anthropometric measurements (weight, height, MUAC) and clinical assessments for:Infants under 6 months with acute malnutritionChildren under 5 with SAM/MAMPregnant and Breastfeeding Women (PBW)Identify and triage emergency cases showing danger signs and acute medical problems as per IMCI protocol (respiratory distress, severe dehydration, nutritional edema).Administer life-saving treatments per protocols:Therapeutic feeds (F-75, F-100, RUTF)Routine medications (antibiotics, vitamin A, deworming, IFA etc.)Refer/admit/enrol critical cases to appropriate facilities:Stabilization Center (SC) for SAM with complications,OTP/TSFP for uncomplicated SAM and any MAM cases,Health facilities for SAM with non-IMCI complications and MAM with any complication.Counselling and Education ServicesPreliminary assessment to identify the IYCF related complications and refer as per protocol.Assessment and management of feeding challenges that require inpatient care e.g. relactation etc.Provide counselling to caregivers of MAM children aged 24-59 months on care practices, RUSF consumption, hygiene practices etc.Provide basic IYCF messaging to pregnant mothers and caregivers of infants 0-5 months, if applicable.Provide intensive care for infants with low birth weight and/or preterm birth and/or hypothermia using Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) as per protocol.Closely monitor infants who are non-breastfed, ensuring effective referral to the designated points with permission to assess and provide guidance on formula preparation if required as a last resort.Psychosocial Support CoordinationConduct preliminary assessments on the symptoms of maternal depression, anxiety, or other mental health concerns.Conduct preliminary assessments on difficulties related to social support or environmental stressors.Refer mother-infant pairs with psychosocial needs to the Psychosocial Support (PSS) corner for further investigation and providing mental health counselling or support services.Collaborate with PSS staff to ensure comprehensive care, addressing both the physical and mental well-being of caregivers.Data Management and ReportingMaintain complete and accurate documentation for all cases:Beneficiary registration cardsTreatment follow-up formsReferral tracking sheetsCompile and submit timely reports:Daily activity reportsWeekly progress updatesMonthly outcome analyses (cure rates, defaulters, mortality etc.)Ensure proper data backup and digital reporting when applicable.Conduct routine data quality checks and verifications.Support digitalization data base and reporting tools.Coordination & ReferralsEstablish referral networks with:Health facilities for medical complicationsIYCF corners for breastfeeding supportPSS services for mental health needsConduct follow-up actions for:Defaulters through home visitsAbsentees via community outreachRelapsed cases for reassessmentParticipate in inter-agency coordination meetingsShare relevant patient information (with consent) for continuum of carePerform Other Duties as AssignedActively participate in team meetings and collaborative case reviews with staff from all facility corners.Provide feedback to the supervisor regarding any emerging needs, patterns, or gaps in care that require attention.Ensure all medical equipment is in good working order, following infection control practices.Support training and capacity-building efforts for the assigned supervisee volunteers.Flexible to undertake other tasks as requested by the supervisorUnderstand and demonstrate commitment to the importance of PSEA, child protection, gender, disability and social inclusion issue.Adhere to organizational policies, including confidentiality, and ensure compliance with donor guidelines.Duration: Till 31st December-2025 with high possibility extension next year 2026.Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Nursing
B.Sc. in Nursing from Medical/Nursing Institute/University will be given preference.Post Basic B.Sc (2 years) in Nursing after completing 03 years of Diploma in Nursing Science and MidwiferyMust have BNMC Registration Number.Experience:
  • 2 to 3 years

Additional Job Requirements:
  • Age 25 to 35 years
  • Only Female
Minimum 2 years in emergency nutrition programs (CMAM, SC, or infant/PBW management).Camp/Rohingya response experience preferred.Proficiency in medical assessments, data management, and reporting.Adherence to WHO/UNICEF CMAM protocols.Ability to conduct anthropometric measurements, medical examinations, and triage.Knowledge of breastfeeding support, IYCF practices, and psychosocial referrals.Ability to work under minimal supervision in resource-limited settings.Strong communication and training skills for volunteers/staff.Sensitivity to gender, disability, and social inclusion issues.Maximum 35 Years (on 6th September 2025) but highly experienced person age will be flexible.Compensation & Other Benefits:As per Organization/project provision.Company Information:SHED - the Society for Health Extension and Development is a renown organization of Bangladesh especially in Cox`s Bazar District was established as the successor to the ICDDR,B Teknaf Station following the closer of the former in September, 1989.
