Responsibilities & Context:The Assistant Project Officer (Job Placement) will support the identification, assessment, and reintegration of children engaged in hazardous labour, ensuring their enrolment and regular attendance in formal education or TVET programs. The role involves facilitating life skills sessions, awareness campaigns, career counselling, and job placement support, while coordinating with employers, schools, TVET institutions, and families to provide alternative livelihood options and cash grants.The position includes monitoring and evaluating individual cases, tracking job placement outcomes, maintaining databases, and documenting success stories. The role will also conduct post-distribution monitoring and prepare regular reports for program leadership and donors.The APO will support capacity building by guiding team members on child labor risks, safeguarding, and case management, conducting orientations and refresher sessions for staff and volunteers. Advocacy, networking, and stakeholder coordination are essential to promote safe, age-appropriate employment opportunities.The role also involves assisting in financial management, budgeting, and procurement while ensuring compliance with organizational policies. Upholding safeguarding, child protection, ethical standards, and the safety of staff and participants is central to this position.Implementation & Management of Field Level Activities - 50%Support to identification, assessment children engaged in hazardous labour.Coordinate with local schools, training centers, and TVET institutions to ensure enrolment and regular attendance of targeted children.Consultation meeting with children/ parents, caregivers & TVET institutes for education & TVETArranging motivation session with employers, market association, and relevant stakeholders for education & TVET.Facilitate orientation and life skills sessions for reintegrated children and caregivers.Reintegrate children into formal education system, withdrawing from hazardous & worst forms of child labourIdentify employment opportunities for TVET graduates through job fairs, job postings, and other outreach efforts.Build relationships with employers to promote job opportunities for program participants.Understand the candidates' interest and requirement before seeking a job for him/herAssist program participants in developing resumes, cover letters, and job applicationsProvide career counselling and job search support to project participantsConduct mock interviews and provide feedback to project participants to improve their interview skills.Coordinate job interviews and job offers with employers and project participants.Collaborate with project staff to ensure that job placement services are integrated into the overall program strategy.Support families with alternative livelihood plans to prevent children from re-entering hazardous labour.Provide the targeted families cash grants and technical support to start IGAConduct awareness campaigns and community dialogues to raise awareness on child rights and the risks of hazardous child labour.Monitoring & Evaluation and Knowledge Management - 15%Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labor market trends, job search strategies, and employment laws and regulationsMonitor the progress of individual child cases and job replacement outcomes.Develop and maintain a database of job placement outcomes and employer partnerships.Ensure accurate and timely documentation of field activities, including beneficiary tracking and success stories.Conducting PDM survey of cash grants support/ start up kits/ cash support for IGAProvide regular progress reports to program leadership and donors.Prepare event reports and support the team and the coordinator as well to prepare the monthly, periodically, interim and final reportsCollecting & documenting case stories and associated photographsTaking need-based activity-oriented photographs and videosCapacity Building - 5%Support the team members on child labour risks, job replacement, reintegration processes, and case management practices.Ensure that team adhere to safeguarding principles, child protection policies, and ethical standards in all interactions with children and families.Conduct orientation and refresher sessions for field-level staff and volunteers on child rights, safeguarding, and job replacement strategies.Advocacy, Networking and Communication - 20%Maintain regular communication and collaboration with relevant government departments (e.g., MoLE, DIFE, DPE, UPEO) and local institutions.Keep abreast of learning process and support to help learning othersCoordinate with industries, employers, and informal sector actors to build partnerships for safe and age-appropriate job alternatives.Support to organize roundtable meetings with relevant stakeholders for elimination of child labor.Support to organize meetings with DIFE, business & employers' association.Financial Management - 5%Support to Project Coordinator in preparing field-level budgets, activity-based budget planning for project interventions.Maintain proper documentation and verification of expenditures related to training, community engagement, beneficiary support, and job replacement activities.Support procurement processes at the field level by preparing requisitions, ensuring compliance, and coordinating with the logistics and finance teams.Others - 5%Ensure and uphold safeguarding principles, child protection policies, and ethical standards in all interactions with children, families, and project participants.Actively participate in seasonal program implementations, including winterization, Qurbani, and Ramadan initiatives.Protect project operations from harm, abuse, exploitation, fraud, money laundering, and bribery, taking appropriate actions in alignment with safeguarding and ethical standards.Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Social Science (BSS) in Development Studies
  • Bachelor of Social Science (BSS) in Economics
  • Bachelor of Social Science (BSS) in Anthropology
  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English
  • Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Human Resource Management
  • Essential: Bachelor's degree in social work or development studies or economics or human resources or Anthropology or Gender Studies or English or any other relevant Social Science discipline from a recognized university.
  • Desirable: Higher academic qualification in a relevant field.
Experience:
  • At least 3 years
