Responsibilities & Context:A. Summary of ProjectRDRS Bangladesh has been implementing an emergency response program titled “RDRS Emergency Response Program (RERP)” in Rohingya camps and nearby host communities in Cox's Bazar district since 2019. The RERP contributes to international efforts to meet the humanitarian and protection needs and increase self-reliance and resilience of the Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals (FDMNs) and host communities through Income Generating Activities (IGAs), tree plantation, life skills with livelihoods, and leadership development training. RERP also works on capacity building of youth and creates market linkage to improve their living standard. This program also aims at cultivating social cohesion, ensuring social inclusion, promoting reforestation, and providing humanitarian support (i.e., food and non-food items, WASH, health, protection, etc.) to the FDMNs as well as the nearby host communities.B. Summary of PositionUnder the overall responsibility and control of the Team Leader (RERP), the Project Manager will assist in planning, organizing, coordinating, and supervising the efficient carrying out of all functions of the respective project of RDRS Bangladesh. The duties of the project manager will beC. Description of ResponsibilitiesMajor responsibilities of this position are as follows:Ensure the smooth day-to-day project implementation and operations;Project planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting (PMER);Assists the team leader in all aspects of the Cox's Bazar project programming in Drug & Environment Protection, Livelihood, DRR/Tree Sapling Plantation, Primary Health Care, protection, and other related interventions of the RERP;Recommend RERP Team Leader to get approval an appropriate staffing structure to implement the planned activities in the project by RDRS Dhaka Office;Ensures that new staffs are provided with program orientation to the projects;Involve in staff recruitment for the RERP project and recommend fair, transparent and capable staff, ensuring that recruitment is gender-sensitive;Attends PMT meeting regularly and solve conflicts or sciplines s staff in Cox's Bazar according to RDRS's policy;Works with the RERP Team Leader and Admin & Finance Officer or other staff closely to ensure smooth functioning of finance matters;Assists RERP Team Leader and actively engages in negotiations with Local Partners, UN, ISCG Clusters, I/NGOs and other agencies at the project level;Assists RERP Team Leader to ensure that all procurement is undertaken in accordance with RDRS, donors and Government of Bangladesh guidelines;Assists the team leader to ensure safety/security protocols are adhered to by all staff;Ensures any project property is used for the benefit of organization and the people served by the project;Assists the team leader and RDRS Govt. Relations Officer or designated staff providing necessary information to get project approval from NGO AB;Assists the team leader to represent RDRS and LWF (wherever needed) in coordination meeting (ACT Forum, ISCG Clusters, NGOs, and other humanitarian agencies) and provide public relations information and visibility as called upon;Fulfills any other professional duties as may be assigned or delegated by the team leader.Education Requirements:
  • Master of Science (MSc) in Forestry
  • Master of Science (MSc) in Agriculture
  • Master of Science (MSc) in Anthropology
  • Master of Science (MSc) in Population Science
  • Master of Social Science (MSS) in Social Science
Experience:
  • At least 7 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGO, Development Agency

Masters in any other relevant disciplineValid license for motorcycle riding02 years proven experience in humanitarian crisis responses, especially in Rohingya response, will be adding valueDemonstrated leadership and program development abilities and strategic thinkingAble to multitask, problem-solve, and deal with complex relationships and situationsKnowledge in rights-based community development, education, income generation/livelihood, market linkage, WASH, protection, DRR/tree plantation and other related areas, or willingness to learnAbility to work under stressful situations and meet deadlinesExperience on community mobilization, linkage and liaisonInfluencing, negotiating, and interpersonal skills Ability to analyze strategic trends and develop appropriate plans and responses to manage crises or risksSound knowledge on development-related issuesAbility of donor liaison, budget control and report writingAbility to build good working relations with existing and potential development partners/donorsGood spoken & written knowledge of both English & Bangla.Speaking ability in the local language (Chottogram) will be given preference.Have good understanding gender a and organizational Gender Policy and act accordingly.·Be aware of and abide by the organizational Child Safeguarding and PSEAH Policy and practices.·Abide by the organizational money laundering policy. RDRS was formally established as the Bangladesh field program of the Geneva-based Lutheran World Federation/Department for World Service (LWF/DWS) on 8 February 1972. Its development aim is to achieve sustainable increases in their living standards. With this aim, RDRS enables those who participate in its program to gain the necessary skills, understanding, confidence, institutions and services; and ensure that the rural communities have the necessary economic, social and environmental resources. RDRS employees approximate 3,700 staff and works with a further approximately 1,000 volunteers and daily paid workers. The vast majority of staff are in field positions, with specialist sectoral and support units in Rangpur and Dhaka.
